Pellets are an essential intermediate product in the plastics production chain. During the basic production process, polymers are produced in the form of melts or powders which are difficult to handle in further processing.

Pelletizing produces polymer feedstock of uniform size and shape, dramatically simplifying final processing and ensuring trouble-free feed, metering, mixing, transport and melting. Pelletizing also serves to "freeze" the properties of the polymer. The size, shape, bulk density and residual moisture of the polymer feedstock are thus all fixed, ensuring superior end product quality.
