USG Underwater Strand Pelletizing Systems

Successfully used by thousands of customers, the M-USG underwater strand pelletizing systems are especially designed for medium up to the highest production capacities. They produce cylindrical pellets of excellent quality, ideally suited for further processing. The systems are available in various configurations to meet the exact processing requirements of any virgin polymer, e.g. crystallization of PET integrated directly into the production process.

Depending on the specific application, Automatik Plastics Machinery is able to supply various sizes out of  three basic versions of the USG systems:

• the M-USG V with vertical strand guide section,
• the M-USG H with almost horizontal strand guide section, and
• the P-USG for recycling and small production size application.
  
  

Application

Machinery with vertical strand guide section M-USG V, giving a performance of up to 14 tons per hour, will preferably be used for pelletizing styrene (GPPS, HIPS, ABS, SAN) and acrylic (PMMA) polymers, and to a certain extent also for polyesters (PET). On individual request other polymers may also apply.

M-USG H machines with horizontal strand guide section can pelletize up to 20 tons per hour and will be used for pelletizing of polyesters (PET, PBT), polycarbonates (PC), polyamides (PA 6.6, PA 6 n.e.) and copolymers. Other polymers on request.

The smaller size P-USG systems, capable of throughputs up to 2600 kg/h, will be used for recycling applications and for production runs at limited throughput level. Material selection includes polyesters (PET, PBT), polyamides (PA 6, PA 6.6), polycarbonates (PC), styrene polymers, acrylics and copolymers, as well as other materials on individual request.
